Don't know and that's why I'm asking. The '85 OM617 is at a friend's place thirty plus miles away and the '78 is here with me. It's too danged hot for a "pleasure cruise" at the moment so I am trying to avoid a wasted trip.
I'm hoping Nate's right. I'm not interested enough in installing a tach if I have to split the engines/transmissions and swap flywheels. I guarantee he is not interested enough to pay me what I would charge if I had to go that route.
