To change that special shaped fuel hose to the fuel filter I believe is necessary to disconnect the duct to the turbo. I tried to do that once and had to take apart many parts that finally I put all back in place and leave it running as it was. Later on I had to bring the car to a MB shop and since they took apart all connections t o the turbo they also replaced that hose.
As in Texas the weather now is terribly hot to work on the garage these next coming weeks will be cooler and then I will buy the parts now and get it done later on.
