Hi,
I recently bought a '91 S124 300TE, and have been going through issues one by one, but I'm a bit stumped on this recent one. The car shifts through the gears when selected on the shifter, but when I place it in D from a stop, it attempts to start in 3rd or 4th, I can't entirely tell. When I move the shifter into 2 it downshifts and drives as normal. The kickdown cable appears to only have minimal slack, and the shifts are generally excellent when I tell it to shift. Along with this, the car won't go into park once I have moved the shifter below reverse, but once I turn off the car, it moves into P no problem. Pedal feel on the gas is a little odd feeling, but I'm not sure if it's related.
