We recently acquired a wonderful '79 300D for our son's first car. The biggest problem we have is that our (Keeshond)dog absolutely goes berserk when we start it up. He barks at the tailpipe and tires and refuses to shut up until the car leaves the property. It can't be the diesel smell, since we've had an '85 Ford 6.9 oil burner for 3 years, and he'll sit quietly next to its tailpipe, emissions blowing thru his hair, without any problem. Best guess is some funky 5-cylinder resonances that hurt his ears.
Does anyone have any similar experiences?
