Ok gonna work on the fire pit heat exchanger later today. Currently have a propane pit but it’s been not reliable. I’m either gonna go to natural gas from the house or back to a charcoal/wood fire. It’s nice flicking on the fire on and off with a switch without all the drama of smoke.
I’m going to take have a y pipe tee off down to maybe a 3/4 steel pipe with a snake like thing that sits in the fire pit then tees back into the main line.

If you have 1.5" flange that should be fine for sure.
