I agree, $10,000 for just an engine is steep.

Some companies can build an entire new car and sell it for less than that. Of course its what I call a little piss ant car, but it is an entire car with a warranty more than 4/50,000.

You might look for a non MB factory rebuilt engine and see what that costs. There aren't many bargains at a MB dealer.
