Smaller restaurants have perhaps fallen as casualties over the years. To franchised fast food places. Just another observation from my distant past.

Generally I do not like the fast food products. KFC and fish and chips being possible exceptions.

i tried the upscale meat hamburgers. Good when introduced but the quality of the meat backed off all too soon locally.

Shoestring french fries salted to death and usually almost cold do not cut it for many.

The majority of wives work outside the home today. This may reduce the variety of food for supper they have the time to prepare. My wife still often prepares food that takes much of the day to produce . Where this time to do this is denied for many ladies. Of course wives do not want to always eat their own cooking all the time.

We just reciently replaced the kitchen stove at home as the wife was never really happy with the oven. She was happy with the one at the cottage. So we made the effort to find one about the exact same. Several days later with many of her tests. She was again happy with the stove. I all too well remember one idiot. Openly asking his wife at one of our dinners. Why she could not cook like the wife does. I figured he may pay for that remark.
