I think the obvious sign is a slight feeling of looseness when shifting and moving the shifter. Also in my experience, I've heard slight metal on metal clinking from where the shift rods connect when the car is shut off and parked in the garage. You can hear it under the car.

But anyway your 200t is just beautiful. What a nice looking wagon. I've got the same interior on my '84 but its cream cloth instead of palamino cloth. Definitely one of my favorite interior styles but it is an unforgiving material in terms of staining.
