Can you help me understand why this car is better than a 1987 diesel wagon? Just the climate control? Is t the 1987 US model a turbo like the 300sdl? Wouldn’t the turbo version be better?

I’ve been researching what it would take to put the 5-speed manual I have from my w201 part out onto my 1992 300te. It sounds like a drive shaft from a 260e and the timing marks on my existing flywheel. Oh, extending the shift rods by an inch too. Other than that, it sounds pretty bolt-in. The diesel may be even easier without the timing mark requirements. The options for transmissions are much wider.
