Thanks folks, it's nice to have a new project. Especially a fairly practical one.
It's been a busy day today. Packed up once it started getting dark, my wife got fully stuck into the interior cleaning too and we still didn't even get close to finishing.
Unpacked all the parts and laid them out in the backyard:
The back of the car looks like someone actually owns it now
Dash lights now work:
Also replaced this mismatched and broken interior pocket:
With this:
Also got pretty brutal on the carpet mats. Baking soda, vinegar, drill-mounted carpet brush. They'll clean up nicely and are certainly getting there already. Rather a satisfying video to watch (watch if you want, stick it out until the end for the reveal

):
The cars finally met too:
Not going to bother detailing the outside properly until I fit the fenders but for now I went for a quick car wash:
I think tomorrow I'll get the door panel sorted, missing door trim refitted and if I have time start on the front end. I'm most likely going to remove the seats at some point to finish cleaning up the interior properly. It definitely needs it
