Does anyone know the function of the vacuum lines that are connected to the side of the vacuum transducers along with the electrical connection. The two top fittings appear to be the input and output ports.

In my car they all have to two side ports connected to a Y fitting sending the same signal to both the top and bottom of the transducer.

The car is a 1991 300D
