OTOH, here in Ca. we have plenty of sharks trolling the swimming beaches, it's not unusual to read a news story about someone getting bitten .

floriDUH may have a better handle on the situation as I've never heard of / seen any shark warning flags here .

I worked in the sewage treatment plant and learned that treated (mostly) poop goes 5 miles out into the Santa Monica Bay, during the late night shift when no one is looking (Feds) they often open the gate and let untreated sewage go, gotta have the holding tanks empty be beginning of day when the flow increases....

I stopped swimming anywhere near So. Cal. decades ago .
