Ok, finally figured out the timing marks.

Took a great deal of looking, and double checking myself.

On my om636 (engine stamp of 52') installed in a 170d. There are no marks on the front cover or pulley. There is a tiny hole on the bellhousing(passenger side). Through this small window.

You will see the marks F:B O:T (the dots are a straight line). What ever holes, or other dips are of no concern with our IP timing.

This sounds simple enough right? Well not really, these stamped letters are super fine. Almost invisible.... Can't feel them, tried wiping them off-ended up covering them and losing my spot.

You better believe I stamped some marks on that timing cover!
