It's not Chrysler taking over Daimler - it's Daimler taking over Chrysler. I work for the former Chrysler and I know it.
As far as the price goes, MBUSA is in USA - just as it's name suggests. And all US companies are very much for bigger profits - otherwise their stocks will be bid down by the Wall Street.
