What is the vacuum part under the back seat in a 1987 300d. Is it the vacuum supply pump (very expensive) or is it the vacuum amplifier (much less costly).

While searching for the reason why my door locks don't work (they never did) I looked under the back seat and the bpart was missing!!!

I went to the local u-pick there were no 124 cars to compare so I'm not sure what the part looks like.

Any help appreciated.
