Ran it out of oil.does not run well now. It is almost certain some form of damage is present inside the engine.

Have to pull the engine for bearings check. Doubt you will see anything to help just by removing the head. Hole in piston almost no possibility. Could be head gasket but engine probably did not overheat enough. Especially if there was still some coolant in it.
