So I picked up a canoe on cl for an ok price. The guy painted it pink and baby blue for whatever reason. Turns out that the canoe is an old old town discovery 164. I’m going sand it down and repaint to a more traditional color. The inside of the canoe is almost like new. The outside must been exposed to the sun for a lot of years. Exterior has a lot of surface type of cracks. I’m not trying to do a full restoration but if I sand things down and fill the gaps with epoxy woukd that be an acceptable repair? Or What other methods can I do to smooth the sides and seal from water?
