Very good points , I didn't see this movie .

I did see The Shining long ago and found it unsettling, IIRC Stephen King wrote the story in his 20's .

I looked at it last year again and pretty much enjoyed it .

There's no question (apart from mindless science deniers) that endless violence in movies and T.V. causes kids to be desensitized, I get to deal with that wreckage up close and personal daily .
