It is my feeling that Mercedes diesels, and probably other Mercedes, thrive on maintenance. You maintain them and they last, you maintain a diesel, it lasts "forever".

IMHO, Mercedes diesels are like Zippo lighters. Replace the wick, flint and keep it full of fluid and they last forever. "Most" other cars are like Bic lighters, buy them, use them, throw them away.

As most of you know I love my 300D. The inherant reliability of a diesel combined with the great engineering of this car make is a joy to drive for a LONG time.
