Prices vary across Canada. Best prices are at Indian reserves if you live near one. Where we live in Ontario, diesel is cheaper than regular gas, but still expensive. Up about 17% over past summer.

Regular - US$4.37/USgal (143.8c/l)
Diesel - US$4.25/USgal (139.6c/L)
Using 0.81 as exchange rate

Our gas prices in Ontario include 6.6c/litre carbon tax. We will mostly get that back in a rebate from our federal government. If we use natural gas for home heating, it also gets taxed (But still a lot cheaper than electric heating) In the end with the rebate about a break even for most families.
