From background indications they will increase the price of gasoline substantially as an incentive to do so. The percentage of diesel cars out there is minimal. I do not expect diesel fuel to track upward in lockstep. As It would impact shipping costs with heavy trucks and railroads too much. There are problems in the situation though.

The electrical grid will need a lot of upgrading and strengthening to stand the weather to come. When the production of electric cars reaches the levels of gas cars production. .I suspect the cost of operating a gas car will make them virtually worthless. Interm changes may be made to reduce gas consumption. The democrats are proposing 555 billion dollars to get rid of fossil fuel burning in the budget.

I started thinking about it when I saw the future prices of a barrel of oil betting. Some are at 150-200.00 a barrel. A few as high as 250.00. Does not really matter the government will set the prices to get any effect they want. They cannot cope with too many serious weather events. So they may move faster than typically common. Serious weather changes also reduce food production.

Since it was reported the tropics are overheating it seems to have changed the urgency a lot. At best though just buying time will be the effect. Until nature swings into more action.

This world needs a signifigant population reduction should be pretty obvious. The officials have known the tonnage of pollution pumped into the atmosphere for a long time each day.
