I have dealt with a couple of the supposed "good body shops" around here for accident repairs. I have been dissapointed both times.

Why?

Well, I always supply used parts. Both shops did not properly prepare used body pieces (sand and refinish) before paiting, even though they said they would and charged me for it. The result has been minor dings in the old paint showing through in the new. Nither shop would fix it, claiming that the flaws were almost unnoticibal ... but to me they are very noticable.

Also, no one paint matched for me when they said they would. They just used the paint code and sprayed it fresh. The result is new body pieces that are almost a different shade of white than the older pieces.

I would also recommend having a hot rod/custom shop do the work, even if it means paying more. In the end, even a good shop will often do marginal work.
