This is a tough question! As with most problems there is no perfect solution that is without compromise. To make it worse, there are people on both sides of the vax/no vax issue that have not bothered to learn the entire story in order learn what they need to know.

Firstly, it amazes me to see how many people believe that wearing a mask will solve the problem. It was said to everyone in the beginning broadly and clearly that a mask can help to prevent the wearer from infecting others, but does very little to protect the wearer from exposure.

In the beginning it seemed that people on both sides of the political aisle were, at least to some extent, we’re cooperating in an effort to achieve a solution for all. It didn’t take long for the politicians and hard core extremists on both far sides to start making it political. Once it was made a political issue that opened the door for the corrupt media to obscure some information and enhance other information. ( Never let a good crisis go to waste.)

Once that happened, the media and politicians created two camps, which brings us to the vaccination/no vaccination war:

The vaccination at first was said by many people in the field would be several years away. For whatever reason, it came much quicker. Trump telling the FDA Director to approve it or resign was certainly a factor. Then once it came, there were some credible people in the medical world that said it may very well have long term I’ll effects. That led to two camps:

Vaxxers, including myself, we’re quick to take the vaccine and when the time came got the booster. For me, for now, it seems to be working well. I have several friends who are physicians. One of them said vaccinations work and that seems obvious, but another has read a lot of medical information that I can’t understand, and refuses to take the vax because of the serious long term effects that he believes are coming.

So, that makes it kind of a stand off as far as getting the shot. It’s working for me, but there may be a time in the future when I regret the decision.

We’re the issue ceases to be a “darned if you do, darned if you don’t” decision is when you start talking mandating masks and vaccines. This is America, we are supposed to have freedom although, more of it is taken away from us ever day.

So, back to te OP’s question, I really don’t know what the solution is. If we mandate the vax, what happens if my Doctor friend is right and serious, fatal after effects start ocurring. I certainly wouldn’t want to have responsibility for signing the vax mandate.
