Are you talking about the position of the steering lock? I found a pretty in depth DIY on an old thread: DIY Ignition Switch/Steering Lock R&R W124
...Though they don't seem to describe anything blue, they do go into mention about what position the switch needs to be in. Perhaps it could lead you in the right direction
