In short, I've arrived at that crossroads where MB owners contemplate whether to sink additional $$ into their beloved vehicle or motor on to a more modern mode of transportation.
What the car needs:
- rear links and control arm bushings
- possible subframe bushings
- front lca bushings/ball joints
- vacuum pump (works fine, but it's the "ball dropper" version)
- All under hood vac lines need replacing
- AC not working (I suspect the PBU at this point) but let's assume a full teardown/rebuild
- dash Vac pods need replacing (center vent)
- Some interior bits (upholstery pulling off b pillar, rear speaker grills cracked)
- paint on top/hood is quite faded
- Needs a couple of dings removed
- transmission service (fluid/filter).
- diffy serviced
- I'd like to do an EGR delete at some point and get rid of the "rats nest"
- I'm sure there's other stuff... isn't there always?
My reality is that I'm tired of spending large chunks of my weekend time on these tasks.. my back isn't getting any younger and I'd like to get back into other hobbies.
The bottom line is, if you had $10k to get work done on this car would you do it or would you put that $$ into something else?
