It's terribly unfortunate that hyperbolic enforcement actions against VW has resulted in the removal of wonderfully fuel efficient vehicles from the marketplace.

Given the magnitude of the judgment and the vagaries of our judicial system its a no-brainer for every manufacturer to pull the plug on Diesel technology. The risks are orders of magnitudes greater than any potential profits.

I'm the original owner of a 2013 GLK with the OM651 engine - it was caught up in the Bluetec issues. My car has also had the remediation work done, I can tell absolutely zero difference in power or economy after the emission mods were done.

I find it almost impossible to believe that it was a gross polluter in 2013..... but its apparently now acceptable?
