Back to the plates. I attended a car show today. Lots of nice cars but nothing European. I am pretty sure mine will be the only vintage MB at any show here I attend.
Anyhow lots of cars with period plates. I asked as many owners as I could about the process-most said the plates were on the car when they bought it-some were original to the car. Only one had any useful information. He said the Oregon DMV never re-used a sequence so theoretically one could bring in any unused plates and they would be good. In a small population state like Oregon that could be true. Also only the rear plate needs to be installed. I have to go in to get my RealID in a few weeks so I will ask then.
Got the baskets installed but I need to move them back a little-my legs hit them when I'm doing the "Flintstone mobile shuffle" to get it started. I'm thinking about installing a kick stand instead of the center stand-it's a little heavy to pull up on the stand with the extra weight of the baskets and 12v battery.
