Dunno if it's the same phone as a '92, but I'd bet it is. I was recently at the local phone store, intent on tossing my entire old setup and going digital, when the guy there says "hey, did you know that there's a motorola digital phone that'll plug right into your car?" I explained how I'd just contacted both Motorola AND MBZ, and both denied knowledge of such a phone's existence.
Well, the guy had it in his car!! Looks like the old phone if you left it out in the sun too long; instead of being angular it's more curved. And not only is it Digital, it's dual mode so it'll cycle back and forth between digital and full 3.0 watt analog, based on reception!
I'm extremely happy with its performance, and most of the upper console buttons still function.
Do a Search by my name; I recently posted the part numbers, etc. regarding this upgrade (and the beauty of it was it only took me about 15 minutes to do the whole changeover
