OM642 rear main seal, how many of you had leaks?

Howdy all,

Curious to see how many people have experienced rear main seal leaks on their OM642s. All the research I've done has scant information regarding seal leaks and replacement. Most reports tend to refer to the rear mains being erroneously replaced for what turned out to be oil cooler seals.

So curious, how common rear main leaks are?

Backstory:
I replaced the oil cooler seals 2 weeks ago. Cleaned the residual oil well, but there was a lot of it. Two weeks later I still have a leak coming from inside the bellhousing. I've used my bore cam to inspect the valley and turbo pedestal and both are as clean and dry as when the cooler seals were replaced. On my 2008, the rear V weep hole dumps into the bellhousing right above the rear main. One of the reasons this gets misdiagnosed so often.

Anyhow, for those that replaced oil cooler seals, did you have residual drippage, and for how long?

Thanks
