We got the MB letter the first week in July. We took it in to the local dealer Dick Dyer Mercedes, and they did the test, and found the booster was compromised.
NO ETA on replacement boosters, either from the dealer or the MB call center. MB offered only 2 months of rental reimbursement, but you had to pay up front and get reimbursed. We refused. Our son was living with friends and decided to move back in with us instead because of this.
I had to sign a waiver that if I drove the vehicle, it was at my own risk, until it was repaired. I drove it home and parked it and it's been sitting ever since. I have only taken it out on early Sunday mornings (when there is little traffic) around the neighborhood to get it some exercise, and I did take it to the gas station and top the fuel tank up all the way to avoid condensation problems.
Hopefully boosters are being made and on their way to dealers soon...
