I'm not sure I understand your question though... I remember pushing it on from below though not certain re: union. Honestly though, it was a fool's errand (for me at least). I ended up flushing the reservoir anyway, and probably, as I should have from the beginning.

The clutch slave on the other hand... that nipple plug makes life a lot easier if you need to swap that part out.
