Finally getting to doing the job, while I'm at it I'm replacing almost all the other bushings on the psg side. The old guide rod bushings (Febi, replacing with OEM Mercedes), the two bolts and guide rod itself were all bend or shot because me doing a 360º on the FW and hitting a barrier...

Everyone who has replaced the guide rod bushings knows what a $#it job this is. The nuts that come with the guide rod kit will almost always break with no room to get a good grip anymore on the nut.

So I modified a vice grip to make it doable. The first time I did this job, 6 years ago it took me hours, maybe even a day. With this modified vice grip, 10 minutes for both bushings. With the modified vice there is just enough room to get a grip on the nut. I used another, larger vice grip, to hold the smaller one in place. Hopes this will help anyone who has to do this job in the future.

Now trying to push the lower control arm bushing in...
