The generators rotor weighs like a ton or so, it's massive and so takes a while to stop it then another while to get it back up to speed again .

Apparently the brushes are in gangs so changing them doesn't interrupt the current flow unless you failed to air check your rubber gloves for any tiny pin holes, cracks or leaks .

Notice ~ I'll never offer to do this job but for those who are trained it's supposed to not be a big deal .

Sort of like riding Motocycles ~ I do that at imprudent speeds and it's only ever hurt when I was run over or crashed .
