The OM617 oil filter O-Rings are 6 & 7 MM, be sure they're Viton or other DIESEL rated as they'll disintegrate rapidly if not .

I can't see this causing your low reading, as mentioned test the gauge first by grounding the lead to the engine block and see what it reads apart from the engine's internal pressure .
