I just thought I'd post a bit of useless information. I took a fuse that I swapped out from my car over the weekend and analyzed it. The original fuses are not made of aluminum. They are made of pure zinc with a tin coating. The tin explains the grey color. There wasn't a whole lot of corrosion on the fuse either.
