So we were in a very busy area of Massachusetts on a three lane each direction section of the interstate. I was in the middle lane and looking to get into the left lane. I had my turn signal on for a good while and this gray mustang appeared to be giving me room to move left. As I swung my head back forward I saw a flash of a bright little car coming into my lane so close a collision looked to be unavoidable. I jerked the wheel left and missed him but went into a tank slapper which resulted in contact between my left rear of the trailer and his rf fender. I noted he went into the median with a big cloud of dust. I hope he is ok.
I came back into control and immediately began looking to get over to the apron on the right side. I found one and pulled off about a quarter of a mile past the site of the collision.
I took a big breath and called 911. After ten of fifteen minutes a trooper pulled up beside us and came over to my window. I told him what had happened. He said when he came by the location he had not noticed the mustang (?). He took down all my information and said he had to get back to the scene. He said if we did not hear from him in ten to fifteen minutes to move on.
A good while later we got a call from his station. They gave me instructions and asked me to call the trooper, and gave me his number but the last two digits of it were missing and we lost the call.
I thought wtf? I then called my bil who is a retired fireman who said I should go to back to the station in Massachusetts and get things straightened out before leaving the state. By this time we were 400 miles away. So I called my insurance agent who said if they did not send any paperwork he would not worry about it.
So we came on home with no further ado.
I figure they have my phone number.
