I once got caught in a flash flood here in Nebraska. Such things here are very rare.
The Platte River is about six inches deep over most of it. Driving across the river bed is not difficult. Unless a bunch of water shows up all at once.
I drained the oil from the engine and found it to be about fifty percent water. I tossed in four bottles of alcohol and that dried out the gas. I also had to replace the distributor. I never figured out how that got cracked.
Chevy Express van with a 305.
I put another twenty thousand miles before the transmission went out at 300,000 miles.
