my w123's a/c clutch engages erratically.

but what is consistent is that after warming up, at idle, it'll refuse to catch and i'll have to put up with warm air until i accelerate away.

belt tension is ok, but the belt sometimes screeches still, esp when after a warm start.
do all this point towards replacing the clutch? thanks.
