There is a rattle order my car; a muffler ‘clamp’ broke near the front of the transmission.

Had a mechanic weld it together, and you guessed it. The dang thing broke again.

Could this be an engine mount issue?

It broke, and is close enough that the two parts hit, causing the rattle noise.

Please advise how I can tell if my engine mounts require replacement.

142,000 miles 2002 E430

While driving there is no rattle, only ar idle.
