Most of those old Solex carbs use different thickness washers placed between the float valve and carb top to achieve proper float level. The Glenn's book from the '60s says that using a 1.0mm thick washer should be right. If you need to adjust you can shave the washer down (float level needs to be higher) or use a thicker washer or stack of washers (float level needs to be lower).
