I replaced the OE 6" wide wheels on my 190E 2.6 with 6.5", 49 mm offset wheels from a 300E and mounted 205/60VR-15 Michelin XGTV tires. This size has about the same revs/mile (849) as the OE 185/65VR-15 Michelins. There was some slight interference at the front of the wheel wells and I had to shave the lip slightly.
The current installed tires are 205/55ZR-15 Dunlop Sport 8000 that are slightly shorter (875 revs/mile) and clearance is fine. See the photo attached to the following thread:

I want to replace these with 205/60s, but can't find a H or better-rated summer high performance tire in this size with a low wear rating like no more than 300. I missed out on the Vredestein SportTrac 5 that went out of production a few years ago.
I think a 7" wide wheel is going to be a problem, but you need to state the offset, which should be clearly molded into the wheel casting, and compare it to the OE wheel offset that I think is 49 mm.
