I am trying to remove the throttle linkage on my 77 240D so I can adjust the valves. It seems to me there must be a trick to this, so I thought I'd ask the assembled multitude if anyone know the best way to do it.

The linkage seem unnecessarily complex, but who am I to question the elves who designed this thing.
