Hello everyone. I am new on the forum and I didn't want to start a new thread since I have a very similar situation described on the very beginning of this thread. I bought a '87 Mercedes 560sel, the car was barn found and to my knowledge the car was not started more then 7 years or more. She is not in the perfect condition but I thought maybe she is worth to bring her back to the life. 160k miles, not rusted to bad, original paint and accident free car. So I started with a fuel tank. Disconnected, removed, flushed and installed back. New fuel strainer inside installed. Fuel delivery assembly replaced. New pumps, filter, fuel accumulator and all hoses. Partially replaced metal fuel line, tank to fuel distributor. Was badly rusted. In the car I found all old ignition cables with distributor cap, rotor and old spark plugs. On the engine all of those components looks very good/ like new so I assume everything was replaced. The car get a fresh gas (around 6 gallons) and new battery. Of course checked fluids (very low coolant) but engine oil looks very good, like fresh. Anyway will flush all fluids when I'll start the car. I can hear the pumps running when turn the key. Disconnected fuel delivery line at the fuel distributor and fuel is coming to the fuel distributor. Now. When I crank she is like she wants to talk, like wants to start but can't. Have an impression like not enough of fuel. I sprayed a starting fluid and the machine started right away and running few seconds until burned the fluid. Checked also the fuel pump relay. (BTW today ordered brand new fuel pump relay.) But no change even with jumper on the pins. So start with starting fluid, no start with fuel. Any suggestions what could be a next step? Where should I put my fingers now? The advice, help will be highly appreciated and thank you in advance for your help. Best regards.
