had an 85 190e that the cat became so clogged the car died, restarting it was fine and the car revved fine in neutral, but the moment ya went into a gear and put your foot down, the car would barely move.

Had the cat replaced and it was fine until the tranny went out several months later.

Of course at the time I was much younger and didn't know how to take care of a car....
