Hey Frank-finally got the details on the shifter rod. It is 12". I forgot some of the details it has been so long since I worked on this. Not sure if this is applicable to your situation but I created my shifter from parts of 2 aftermarket shifters and some of the original shifter. The remote shifter fits in the original shifter cutout by clamshelling the 2 parts in the hole. The shift rod will somehow attach to the shifter. I found by splitting the return spring tension between the trans and remote shifter it causes less flex on the rod and improves shifter feel.
