This is picture of the coil compressor. You want to get the upper tool disk as high up the coil as possible. You can insert a disk in a wider middle area of coil and then spin it around to get it higher.
Use a Rachet wrench and not a powered tool to turn the shaft
A second thing is the internal screw shaft has to be centered when you start tightening. You have to have both disks oriented the same. Also watch out that the screw shaft does not bottom out on the lower plate that holds the coil.
Third thing, before you tighten the device. Go under the car and look under the spring and make 100% sure that the 3 spokes of the screw shaft are seated in the notches of the disc.
