OP, the OE wheel size for a w124 300E is 15x6.5 ET49 and the tires were 195/65R15. I believe sportline models had a 7.0 and slightly lower offset but those are quite rare.

You ought to be able to fit the same size tire on no problem (little less sidewall since itll have a 0.5in wider wheel). Id be concerned aboht that offset though. It will stick out farther and could rub on the fender.
