Rough starting could be caused by the lift pump having worn springs/rubber. It would let fuel drain back into the tank, meaning you'd have to crank to re prime the system after it sat for awhile.
The valves wear out and are cheap to replace.

I also suggest Extreme inspection of all fuel supply hoses from tank to lift pump.
