Well I was doing some testing with mine a few weeks ago, here is what i found. The Roof manual operation bolt, and the white round plastic thing is the only way to describe it to the left is how to se the timing. You pull the white thing out like a time setting pin on a clock, and you adjust it by moving the sunroof. I was playing with mine, and got the timing so out of whack, that it would go up when I tried to close it normally. I kept playing with it and adjusting the white thing and the sunroof position, and got it to finally line up.
A Little grease on the track and the pop up arms fixed the problem I was having with the roof kind of slowing down when closing and not popping up fully. I squirted in some grease with a grease gun into the track, opened and closed the roof a few times, now it is smooth as silk.
when I had it mis adjusted, it would show the same symptoms as you described about it going up when you kept pushing it forward. It shounds to me like it is just out of adjustment.
Be careful with the hex bolt adjuster though, it can snap easliy as it is an aluminum bolt wrapped in a plastic housing, and the plastic housing can break easily. Mine did, but I was still able to adjust it, and I found the piece today, so I will have to figure out how to reattach it.
