A very odd milestone to celebrate but it highlights the vastness of space. Given the speed its traveling at (about 38000 mph) and the length of time in space (launched in '77) being only 1 light day (as opposed to 1 light year) away does not seem like much. But it is. Voyager is about 15.5 billion miles from earth.
